Rebrandisaster : Pitchfork

Well, I know I'm behind on this one but WHATEVER GUYS I DON'T HAVE INTERNET AT HOME BECAUSE I JUST MOVED AND ROGERS IS THE WORST EVER.

Anyways, I'm sure most of you have noticed some drunken buffoon had it's way with the pitchfork logo and somehow (either through cunning wit or roofies) managed to convince the people over at pitchfork it was an improvement of some sort.

Okay the all-black I kind of get, the red was a little outdated and corporate for pitchfork. whateverfine. but seriously WHY DID YOU KEEP THE NOTCHES IN THE 'P' AND THE 'F'.

That K is clever. I see the inverted pitchfork. I get it. It just doesn't work. really though, why on earth did you keep those notches?? Are they actually part of the face? I'm assuming so because nobody in their right mind would have put them there on purpose. nobody. nope. no one. except you, of course.

I don't even really like the typeface. That 'r'? and why is the 't' all squinched down (just invented a word nbd) and hiding? Also, the 'f' looks constipated. yup. I went there.

I don't often 'hate' on things, but this enraged me for some reason. I can still see the intent of the designers, and I agree with the general changes made. But those tiny oversights are all I can see, unfortunately.

Oh and lastly I don't care what any of you say it is not kerned properly.

In the comments section of the brand new post someone actually took the notches out of the wordmark and w o w what a difference. The letter-spacing is still a little tight making it look horribly kerned, but whatever, still much better. The inverted pitchfork in the 'k' is a little too subtle, making it look a little off balanced/out of place but sure. why not.

Is it an actual improvement? not really. why'd they even bother. I'm confused. and angered. and kind of snacky. done ranting now, l8er.

pittsburgh house

Summer Rolling 1,2 and 3.

Bought a new caammeerraaa! Nice little 35mm just in time for my trip to pittsburgh. What's weird is my 18-75 lens kind of looks like a fisheye on this body? the shots are pretty nice though. I look forward to trying out different films, wasn't exactly happy with this one. I have a new baby in there right now, more shots soon to come! Enjoy.
